TUDOR GRANGE CONSULTATION
Please find attached a pdf of my submission to Tudor Grange School regarding its consultation about admission arrangements. I submitted the representation on Thursday via email and have received an email acknowledging its receipt.
I do believe all schools in Solihull must agree, within its family of schools, an admissions code that is fair to all schools and residents.
MONKSPATH HALL RD – Crossing consultation
I do know I will get a bit of stick from some friends about another obstruction in the way of vehicles but they will understand the rationale of my request for a crossing facility to be situated at the top of Monkspath Hall Road, near to the Fieldhouse Pub. This has nothing to do with me going to the pub on Monday evenings either I might add!
Seriously, I have been a governor at Monkspath Junior and Infant School for some 23 years and we have been asking for either a pathway down Monkspath Hall Road (to save children from actually crossing the highway) or some sort of crossing facility. There are some 90+ children who live in the Hillfields area and attend Monkspath J&I School, with some having to cross both Widney Lane and Monkspath Hall Road at ver busy times of the day. It appears a pathway has been ruled out – basically not enough space on the grassed area near the top of Monkspath Hall Rd. So, we are left with just one option – a Toucan Crossing.
I have attached a document and plan of the proposals and please respond to the consultation if you have a view. I doubt there is a school in Solihull where as many children are expected to cross such big roads.
WMP – Equality, Diversity and Human Rights
West Midlands Police has published informing regarding Equality, Diversity and Human Rights. I have posted the document via this link:

MAYOR OF SOLIHULL
At the Annual meeting of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council on 22 May 2012 I was elected Mayor of Solihull for the next 12 months. To state is a great honour is a wild under-statement and I am so excited about the year ahead. The first week has seen a mixed range of visits.
I am blogging purely about the Mayor on another WordPress blog site: http://solihullmayor.wordpress.com/ You can find out about the visits and view some images on that site.
I will continue to post information about Blythe Ward, the Council and others information on this site: I am still a ward councillor and will strive to fulfil both roles well.

LOWBROOK FARM, TIDBURY GREEN
Many residents in or near to Lowbrook Lane, Tidbury Green have received a leaflet from Gallagher Estates/Pegasus Planning Group informing them of a ‘public consultation’ relating to the development of land known as Lowbrook Farm, off Lowbrook Lane.
Pegagsus Planing Group are holding an exhibition at Tidbury reen Village Hall on Friday and Saturday (11 and 12 May. I have added here a scanned copy of the leaflet sent to some residents of Tidbury Green: IMG
NO formal planning application has been made to date but it can be reasonably expected that one will follow in due course. Having said that, the developers have a big obstacle to overcome because this site is not included in Solihull (Draft) Local Development Plan. I have attached a PDF file which relates to land in Tidbury Green that was discussed as part of the local plan but all sites were dismissed. The site in question is site number 16 in the report and reasons for excluding the site from the local plan are clearly explained. TidburyGreen
For those who are not too certain of the local area I have posted a few photographs:
Election Results – Purdah is over
I have purposely not posted anything recently because the election period was upon us and I am resolute in not using this website for political purposes; I might ask you to vote for me in 3 years time though!
The attached link shows Thursday’s elections results for Solihull Borough: http://www.solihull.gov.uk/democracy/publishingresults.htm
I wil be posting a few more in the coming weeks and also provide a link to my brand new wordpress site that I will use for my Mayoral year, which begins on 22 May 2012.
