LOWBROOK FARM, TIDBURY GREEN

Many residents in or near to Lowbrook Lane, Tidbury Green have received a leaflet from Gallagher Estates/Pegasus Planning Group informing them of a ‘public consultation’ relating to the development of land known as Lowbrook Farm, off Lowbrook Lane.

Pegagsus Planing Group are holding an exhibition at Tidbury reen Village Hall on Friday and Saturday (11 and 12 May. I have added here a scanned copy of the leaflet sent to some residents of Tidbury Green: IMG

NO formal planning application has been made to date but it can be reasonably expected that one will follow in due course. Having said that, the developers have a big obstacle to overcome because this site is not included in Solihull (Draft) Local Development Plan. I have attached a PDF file which relates to land in Tidbury Green that was discussed as part of the local plan but all sites were dismissed. The site in question is site number 16 in the report and reasons for excluding the site from the local plan are clearly explained. TidburyGreen

Election Results – Purdah is over

I have purposely not posted anything recently because the election period was upon us and I am resolute in not using this website for political purposes; I might ask you to vote for me in 3 years time though!

BIG CLEAN UP IN FARMHOUSE WAY, MONKSPATH

There has been some excellent undertaken and led by Monkspath Rotary and 1 Shirley Scouts who undertook a big clean up of the car park and surrounding area in Farmhouse Way, Monkspath on Sunday 31 March. I have posted some ‘before’ and ‘after ‘photographs of the area and these show (in part) how hard the teams worked. The area is well used by the children from the local Junior and Infants School, patrons of the pub and the shopping area and can get to be a bit littered. A great big thank you to all involved.

McDonalds, Stratford Road, Monkspath – 24 hr Opening?

I would like readers views on the planning application by McDonald’s to allow 24 hour opening at the restaurant on Stratford Road, Monkspath. Application no. 2012/288 refers and can be viewed on the council’s web site via: http://www.solihull.gov.uk/planning/dc/ViewApp.asp

What are your views about this? Do you feel the restaurant is away from houses so will cause any additional problems, or do you believe it will cause annoyance to residents?

BLYTHE VALLEY COUNTRY PARK

I took a walk through Blythe Valley Country Park this cold morning. To have this fantastic park in my ward, and on my doorstep, is fantastic, it is a wonderful place to visit – anytime of the year. There is a wealth of wildlife to be observed and a hide/shelter to allow you observe any birds under cover.

If you need to drive to the location you may park free by the Blythe Valley Management Offices (get free parking permit first) or do what I sometime do; park on the Notcutts Car Park and cross the road. Why not pop into Notcutts for a tea/coffee afterwards.

The country park is not very well known, so get down there and spread the word.

Planning Application – Creynolds Lane, Cheswick Green

Last week I spoke to a few residents who are concerned about the latest planning application on the site of 194, Creynolds Lane, Cheswick Green. Where there used to be one bungalow, permission was given for the construction of two houses. There is now another application for an additional house – application 2011/1980 refers. If, for somehow the link does not work, just enter the application number on the relevant page number. If you also click on ‘other applications’ you will also view previous applications for the site.

I would value residents views about this latest application. I have already had discussions with the Parish Council and have requested the application is heard by Solihull’s Planning Committee where I intend to make representations on behalf of residents.

Hillfield Park, Monkspath – Users Group Meeting

The next meeting of the Park Users Group is on Monday 6 February at 7pm at the Community Centre, Farmhouse Way, Monkspath. Here you will meet Luke Holland, my Councillor Shadow. Luke is a keen environmentalist and will tell you about his shadowing Award and what we have done already. I will try my best to attend but am already committed at a Monkspath School Governors Finance and Personnel meeting at the same time. I shall try and pop-in.
