The government has launched a consultation regarding travellers and the impact unauthorised encampments have on local communities. They are specifically looking at whether the existing powers need to be strengthened and how local public authorities can use powers available to them more effectively. It is our chance to ‘have our say’.

I will be submitting my own response and will post it when submitted.
I believe we should adopt the Southern Irish solution where you cannot stop on a persons land without prior consent. This means that all a person has to do is tell them to move on, if they don’t then the Police can without any court involvement. Also I would suggest they are legally responsible for any clear up costs.
