CRIME PREVENTION – WMP Handbook

Being the victim of crime is not nice and I know what its like to have your house burgled; ironic as I was at Crown Court on the morning of the break-in, giving evidence (as a police officer). I was though content to be able to arrest the shite a few weeks later when catching him trying to escape from another attempted burglary.

Anyway, its always good to hear about things we can do to help make our homes, property and person safe and the Crime Prevention Handbook compiled by West Midlands Police is a usually document to read through.

The booklet has sections on the Home, Motor vehicles and street crime, amongst others.

  1. Dear Ken, As a former WMP officer I am appealing to you to reconsider and visit my property to discuss your comments at the council meeting, last week. I have worked for WMP, for 15 years and currently an Investigator on Homicide Team 1. A neighbour of mine asked a question about cutting back the overhanging oak trees, in the ‘Coppice’, adjacent to Maywell Drive, Elmdon borough.. As residents and home owners, we chose to move next to the beautiful coppice, behind our houses. However, over the years, the branches have grown out sufficient to be within a couple of metres from the rear of the house.. In relation to the health, we had a tree report done, before our extension was approved which contradicts the condition and health of the 2 trees that border our garden. A tea or coffee, and biscuits of course, await you should you take up your time to visit, and see first hand the issues we face. Best wishes, Glenn.
