WHITLOCK’S REACH, DICKENS HEATH

Persimmon Homes have launched a ‘pre-application’ consultation in respect of a site they wish to develop. The site is a plot of land on Tythe barn Lane, Dickens Heath, between Whitchurch Lane and the Akamba Heritage Centre. The plot forms part of site BL1 within the councils draft Local Development Plan (LDP) and I will provide the link to that later in this report.

I met with the developers today and although no formal planning application has been submitted, this consultation may form part of their eventual submission at a later stage.

Information about the proposals (which are concept for this consultation) can be found via this link: Home – Persimmon Homes Dickens Heath (resident-portal.co.uk)

I am informed this newsletter will be delivered to many homes in the immediate area in Dickens Heath tomorrow:

The consultation can be found via the above link but a direct one is shown here: Submit Your Feedback on plans for Whitlock’s Reach – Persimmon Homes Dickens Heath (resident-portal.co.uk)

The LDP is still to be adopted and is awaiting feedback from the government following a late consultation into the National Planning Policy Framework. It is though expected that developers who have sites in the plan, and are nearing the finalisation of their master plans, will submit planning applications to be determined.

The councils draft LDP can be viewed here (with pages 183-185 referring to site BL1): 003-Draft Submission Plan – Incorporating Post Publication Minor Modifications as Tracked Changes (solihull.gov.uk)

This post is for information purposes. I know the parish council has been updated and will no doubt engage with the consultation.

Please do not hesitate to ask me for any other information or clarification.
