WARD BOUNDARY CHANGES – SOLIHULL

The Local Government Boundary Commission has publishd their proposals they will now consult on. These can be found via this link (I have provided shortcuts further along this post): https://www.lgbce.org.uk/all-reviews/solihull

Pretty well most wards are affected, certainly my own ward, Blythe, which is the largest ward in the borough. It has by far the largest amount of electors and three parish councils. There has been substantial housing development and probably more to come. This causes an uneven workload.

In brief, most of Blythe will remain within its curent boundary but without Monkspath. Monkspath will merge with Hillfield and parts of the current St Alphege ward to form (potentailly called) St Alphege and Monkspath. I feel this is appropriate because Monkspath is within the St Patricks parish boundary. I have posted a screen shot of the suggested new ward boundary above.

Residents can submit their own response to the consultation, by 10 April 2024, via: https://www.lgbce.org.uk/all-reviews/solihull/feedback
