I have posted the Annual Report here;

Section 9 outlines – Challenges in Delivering the NZAP
Local government plays an essential role in combatting climate change and
reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In June 202321 the UK Government identified
some of the wide-ranging policy areas where local government’s involvement is
needed to support climate action. These include:

  • Enforcing minimum energy efficiency standards for new builds.
  • Delivering funding to retrofit existing homes and improve their energy
    efficiency.
  • Shaping housing, infrastructure and renewable energy development in
    their area in their role as local planning authorities.
  • Developing and delivering heat network connections.
  • Encouraging active travel, decarbonising public transport, and installing
    public charge points for electric vehicles.

Essentially – the Council is making good progress against the NZAP with over
70% of all actions underway.
