DICKENS HEATH – There’s a light at the end of the tunnel

Residents of Dickens Heath know only too well that the development has not yet been completed, yet the LDP shows areas for release for housing. One of the main complaints has been that Dickens Heath is still to be completed. This is because the original management company, Parkridge, went into administration some years ago. However, good news is at hand; I am so pleased to announce that substantial progress has been made regarding the position of the outstanding works on Dickens Heath.

A great deal of detailed and confidential work has been going on behind the scenes and I can now reveal Solihull Council approved the principle of entering into a new legal agreement with a Developer that has been selected by the Administrators for Parkridge. In concluding the legal agreement, the Council will be seeking to get a commitment for the Developer to commence construction of the final phase of Garden Squares in 2014 together with completion of the outstanding highway works connected with the Village Centre at the outset.

I hope, that following detailed discussions this month a more detailed statement can be made including details of the developer and a programme for taking the works forward.
