The New Year has started off in fine style at Shelly Farm Community Centre, Monkspath, with the centre receiving a donation of £500 from Shirley Ladies Circle.
Jacqui Johnson, Chair of Shirley Ladies Circle stated ‘ I was aware via local Councillor Ken Hawkins Facebook page the centre had been in difficulties and saw an opportunity for Ladies Circle to show its support for local groups and projects. We have seen how the centre is being transformed and that they undertaking their own fundraising projects, we are so pleased we can donate £500 and help ensure the sustainability of this lovely centre’.
The Community Centre chairman, Mr Khan, said ‘I’d like to thank the Ladies Circle for their generous donation to the Shelly Farm Community Centre. “As a Committee we’ve been working hard to push forward with the refurbishment project and are delighted to receive this support’.
I am so pleased Jacqui and Shirley Ladies Circle have been able to make this fantastic donation to the local community centre here in Monkspath. The committee has worked wonders to renovate and decorate the centre and know this donation will help towards further improvements.
