Ping! Solihull – New outdoor table tennis provision in parks

Following the success and popularity of the outdoor tables installed in six parks locations in 2021, Solihull on the Move funding is now being used to expand the offer to four new locations.

Solihull Active and Public Realm have identified the following parks to receive a new permanent outdoor table at each location:

* Lanchester Park
* Knowle Park
* Damson Lane Park
* Lavender Hall Park

The rationale for choosing these parks is their suitability, the interest from local community/parks groups and also to ensure accessibility to table tennis across a wider geographical area. This additional park provision will help enable inactive residents to increase their physical activity levels, as well as benefit their mental health and social interactions. Increasing free physical activity opportunities, will enable children, young people and families, older adults, disabled people and people on low incomes to participate.

The new outdoor Table Tennis tables are to be installed over the summer.

This project is part of Solihull Council’s ‘Solihull on the Move’ programme, an initiative to create healthier, stronger and more sustainable communities through physical activity and sport.
