Macc Group has lodged an appeal to the Secretary Of State against the decision of Solihull MBC to refuse to grant planning permission to build a very large and high building on the former Morrisons site at 281 Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 3AR

The Solihull Council Planning Application Ref PL/2021/00086/PPFL was refused earlier this year after I spoke at the Planning Committee meeting in which I highlighted the height of the building will adversely affect residents facing the proposal on Sutherland Ave and the surrounding area. Also the proposal to build an 84 bed C2 care home facility with 88 residential apartments will put pressure on the junction of Solihull Road and Stratford Road, more pressure on local services and the building will not be in keeping with the area on the High Street and the suburban character behind it.
