NEW A9 BUS SERVICE – BVP to Kingshurst

The new service started today. The full time table and route can be accessed via TfWM webpage via: https://legacy.wmnetwork.co.uk/plan-your-journey/find-a-timetable/#/route/cen_390A9_%20_H_y11_1-1

This is a great addition for the borough, especially Blythe ward, whilst some services in the region are being cut or changed.

I note bus stops do not have the new service shown on them and the TfWM app has to be updated for real time running. These will come in due course as the service was commissioned in double-quick time by TfWM and Stagecoach.

This service was commissioned through the governments Bus Improvement Plan funding and this will ensure the runs for at least two years.

Let’s try to use our bus services in the New Year.

  1. This service has already let my daughter down both times that she has tried to use it. Firstly last Saturday when she waited over an hour, in the end she had to get a taxi because her aspergic toddler was getting extremely upset.
Secondly this morning at 7.30 am it didn’t turn up and she again had to pay for a taxi so that she wasn’t late for work. So it is not “a great new addition “

      1. 12.35 ftom Solihull Town centre on Saturday 7th and just after 7.30 this morning Clay Lane/Barn Lane junction.

  2. In addition she cannot use her Tfwm disabled bus pass before 9.30 as she was allowed to do by National Express who ran the 58 service. So is there an assumption by Stagecoach who run the A9 that people with disabilities do not need to be at work before this time?

    1. I don’t know exactly where you live and if your reside in Blythe ward I could make enquiries. However, if you do not can I suggest you raise this with your own local councillor?

  3. What an absolute joke this bus is now it’s changed from the 58 West Midlands both my children have been left at the bus stop for over n hour most mornings and are late for school! Big disappointment

  4. I absolutely agree with these comments, I am 73 yrs old, waiting in castle lane for the 11.49 and the next, neither turned up, today its snowing and I missed an important appointment, besides feeling cold & wet, comments like no drivers or covid are totally unacceptable if my husband can turn up to go to blackpool in an HGV, there are no words
    disgusting service

  5. I caught the A9 today to get from Kingshurst to Solihull (and back) as WMT was in the middle of a strike . I found it quite easy to track the bus (via the app) and see where it was. Okay, agree it was not on time and not many running but it’s £4 tickets or £40 on taxis!. I heard that it is a new service under review but it gets a thumbs up from me. Thanks Ken Hawkins for making it happen.
