POLLUTION – HILLFIELD LNR LAKE?

A report on one of the local facebook forums this morning alerted my self and newly elected Blythe ward Cllr, Keith Green, to possible pollution of the stream and lake via an outlet from the nearby Cranmore Industrial site.

We took a sample – just in case that would help identify the source of the discharge.

The stream serves the lake in the Local Nature Reserve where there are fish and lots of water birds. The lake is the location of a ‘certified’ Heronry in Solihull. You can see a heron on moist days by the banks.

I have reported the matter to the Environment Agency and council officers.
