Reports to Solihull Cabinet

Two important issues came before yesterday evenings cabinet meting.

The first one was the Crisis Support and Housing Payment Policy.

The introduction to the reports reads ‘ The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is a national programme for local authorities in
England designed to provide a strengthened local welfare safety net by supporting
low-income households who experience sudden financial shocks, while also investing
in services that build longer-term individual and community financial resilience. It
brings together crisis support, housing-related assistance and preventative service
into a single, flexible framework, and replaces Discretionary Housing Payments with a
new Housing Payments strand from April 2026.’

The full reports and the payment policy underpinning it can be read here:

The second report covered the Eligibility for Solihull’s Holiday Activity and Food Programme. The purpose of this report was to seek approval to change the eligibility criteria that determines which children will be entitled places in the Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAFP). This is in addition to those children and young people who are already eligible for the HAFP based on their receipt of benefits-related free school
meals.

The report and Fair Treatment Assessment Form can be read here:
