The nature reserve is within the boundaries of three Solihull wards; Blythe, St Alphege and Shirley South.

As the photographs show there is a bit of a problem with drainage. This is usual in winter because of the amount of clay the park is built on. However, the rains of this winter has caused extra difficulties.

Park users will know a wooden walkway was erected a few years back and this has been very successful. I now wonder if there is a case of an extra one or two.

I am raising the issue with council staff and hopefully an action plan will be drawn up. I feel that parts of the footpath are dangerous, especially to the senior citizens as walkers will be drawn to walk on the sodden muddy area adjoin the tarmac footpaths which are under water.

There is no easy solution to this issue but I will feed back to you.
