The resurfacing of pavements in Monkspath has been widely welcomed as the former hopscotch effect (as a result of utility works) have been covered over by the technique known as ‘slurry surfacing’.
However, I have identified a few problems whilst walking my dog, especially around the Stapenhall Road area (but not just confined to there). Grass is growing though a section in Stapenhall Road (weed killer is sprayed prior to painting the slurry in the surface) and some areas are breaking up in the cold, wet weather. There are also stretches that appear more brown than black.
I have reported the faults to the local neighbourhood coordinator so they can be inspected for (hopefully) further attention. I will be seeking the whole of the pavement works to be inspected so that no road has been missed.
