I wish to remind residents about the consultation into the subsidised services (the Diamond routes in Blythe ward).
If you are able please submit a response to the survey, the link is here:https://www.networkwestmidlands.com/campaigns/solihull-bus-review/
I also wish to remind you that TfWM are holding a public exhibition on High Street, Solihull (between McDonalds and John Lewis) this Wednesday, 3 October, between 9am and 3pm. I shall be popping along as well as attending a special meeting for ward councillors the following day.
Issues I will be raising include:
- Reliability of service
- Compensation for residents let down
- Penalties for operators of these subsidised services
- The publication of performance of operators
- Measures to address poor performance
These are most, but not all the issues, and I will be exploring how operators can be allowed to continue despite ongoing performance issues. It is vital that the operator awarded the next contract for the area must have a proven method for repairs/faults of their fleet, with support/mechanics close at hand – which is not the case with the current Diamond service.
Further information, as well as the pdf of the document explaining the situation can be found on my website: https://cllrkenhawkins.co.uk/2018/09/23/bus-services-consultation-by-tfwm/
Please feel free to let me know how you get on. I shall report back after Thursday meeting.
