Many will know of the floods that affected Solihull last May Bank Holiday, seriously affecting parts of Blythe Ward and Shirley. A report under Section 19 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 was commissioned and the report has been published today.
The report itself can be found within the agenda for the Cabinet Member for Environment and Housing at his meeting next Thursday, 31 January. The link to the agenda is here: http://eservices.solihull.gov.uk/mgInternet/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=524&MId=7141
The main report is an appendix to the agenda and can be read here: flooding report – appendices . This report introduces what happened on the day in question, shows weather data and identifies some early recommendations.
The officers accompanying report, intruding the main investigation report, can be viewed here: flood investigation report
I have yet to read the report myself and will do so before commenting further.
