A further report at my cabinet decision session next week asks me ‘to provide the Cabinet Member with an update on the outcome of the design and consultation stage of the Active Travel Fund Tranche 2 Cycleways project and to seek approval to progress with the construction of three routes and an area wide cycle parking scheme.’

Consultation about these issues are vital and you can see that residents’ of Marshall Lake Road were heard about concerns of removal of car parking spaces. A suitable alternative seems have been identified.

It is known I am a big supporter of cycling and the need to provide safe and dedicated routes – but it is also important not to diminish the needs of car/service vehicle drivers.
Views on the proposals are always welcomed.
