I supported this when Bruning and Price applied two years ago and they did get planning permission for a pub/restaurant. However, the viability of construction meant they had to walk away. However, an amended application has been submitted; essentially there is no basement works but there is a small increase in the footprint of the building.
Despite some greenbelt issues and that the building has conservation issues I support the application because it is needed in the community as a central hub. Bruning and Price are a quality company and there existing premises are first class. One of my worries is that ‘if not this application, then what?’ This does not mean we should roll over but here we have an application the parish council and residents can support.
