Children in Solihull ages 4 – 11 are being challenged to read six books across the school summer holidays. This year’s School Summer Reading Challenge ‘Gadgeteers’, starts on Saturday 9 July and gives children the opportunity to win some exciting prizes. The challenge is free to join and runs until Saturday 10 September.

To take part, all children need to do is sign up at their nearest library where they will receive a collector’s card and can pick up a set of stickers each time they borrow and read a library book.

Just read six books across the summer holidays to earn yourself a certificate and a medal. Pick up a collector’s card from your local library and a set of stickers each time you visit. If you match the challenge, you can enter our free prize draw. You could win a family ticket for this year’s Panto at The Core Theatre, a £30 gift card to use in Touchwood, £25 gift card for Waterstones or a £15 gift card for The Entertainer

Solihull libraries will be holding activities for children throughout the summer. For example, on Thursday 28 July, Cambridge University Hands-On Science (CHaOS), a free drop-in event where families can try out 10 experiments, will be held at The Core.
