Myself and Keith (Blythe ward) have posted about this several times and we wish to give you a brief update to include timelines.
I am a member of the West Midlands Police and Crime Panel and the Police and Crime Commissioner is reporting to us next Monday. The papers can be read via the link below but I have copied the sentences in relation to the Solihull Police station here (and screen shot below):
“A new leasehold acquisition has been secured in partnership with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council for the Priory in Solihull town centre. This will progress during Autumn 2026 to enable the relocation of the PCO and teams from Solihull Station, Homer Road, in Spring 2027. This will be supplemented by works at WMP’s Winchcombe Road and Chelmsley Wood, enabling the disposal of the large Homer Road site in Spring 2027.”
There is a ‘live’ planning application for an office block to replace the existing police station and relevant documents can be found here: https://publicaccess.solihull.gov.uk/online-applications/caseDetails.do?keyVal=TGBJ3COEK7600&caseType=Application
Having spoken to an employee of a utility company I believe the intended office block is for a specific company who wants to relocate to the town centre. It is not a speculative application. Obviously the identity will be made public soon.
